"ALL THE OBJECTS YOU WILL SEE IN THIS WEBSITE ARE DELIBERATELY DESIGNED TO ANNOY YOU."
The About section is pretty clear about it: the everyday objects that have been designed by Katerina Kamprani are not made to make your life easy, and thus deliberately.
I came across The Uncomfortable by luck, thanks to the (for once) good work of the Facebook algorithm; strange items popped on my timeline, leaving my mind in a mix of "hey, this is genius!"and "oh, why do they make me feel so uncomfortable?"
In a previous post I talked about choices we can make as consumers on a daily basis, and how it requires some self-reflection and distance to understand whether we truly need things, the way they are. I feel that Katerina's work poked a part of my brain that wants to question the nature of things: are the 50 glasses and nearly 30 cups in my cupboards (coming in all shapes and colours, and to be used for different purposes I believe) that necessary in my life?
