During 31 days in November and December, a bunch of French Youtubers and social media influencers have shared on a daily basis simple steps that can easily be implemented to start a more sustainable life, and hopefully have a bigger impact on the society we live in.
Yes, OUTSIDE THE BOX probably bore you to the tears with #OnEstPret, and I have to say it was a tedious job updating the site on a daily basis to ensure that the campaign was being shared live, and translated into English to a certain minimum to ensure our international readers would be able to take part.
In case you have just come across OUTSIDE THE BOX, you can find the challenges here, and we strongly encourage anyone to have a look and start somewhere, for instance by picking one challenge per week.
Anyway, the biggest questions I had in mind as the last day was approaching were the following:
What next?
Why stopping now?
All this for what?
Let's say that the answer to all these questions was not disappointing: Along with actors, politicians, scientists, journalists...these influencers have invited everyone to sign a petition iniated and led by 4 major associations (Fondation pour la Nature et l’Homme, Greenpeace France, Notre affaire à tous, Oxfam France) to sue the French State before the Administrative Tribunal of Paris for its inaction against climate change. Their objective is to have the judge recognize the state's obligation to act to limit global warming to 1.5 ° C, in order to protect French people from the risks raised by climate change.
Not bad, hey?
I have signed the petition, and after 3 weeks only it has received nearly 2 million signatures.
Will you be the next ones to sign?
